Our take: Visual impairment isn't just impacting the elderly, doctors are finding a spike in sight loss with 20- to 39-year-olds. Liz Szabo reporter for USA Today writes about how the doctors' are finding ties with diabetes and visual impairment:
"The nation's twin epidemics of obesity and diabetes are beginning to rob more Americans of their sight, a new study shows.
The percentage of American adults suffering from uncorrectable vision loss spiked 21 percent in only about six years, rising to nearly 1.7 percent of the population, according to an analysis of the years 1999 to 2002 to 2005 to 2008."
