WHITE CITY — A teenager has died nine months after being struck by a vehicle while riding his skateboard.
Zachery Taylor Lindley, 17, died Sept. 12 as a result of severe injuries suffered when he was hit by Jeep on Dec. 6 last year.
Lindley was not wearing a helmet at the time of his accident. Helmets are not required by Utah law, although the state does have a higher rate of helmet usage than the U.S. as a whole, at 36.5 percent in Utah compared to 20 percent in the U.S.
The driver of the Jeep has not been charged but the case has been reopened for investigation.
