Freshman running back Jamaal Williams turned heads during BYU's first scrimmage, rushing six times for 34 yards and a touchdown. "He's very explosive and has got lots of speed," said quarterback Riley Nelson. "If he can keep playing like (that), I think he may be able to see the field this year, which is amazing, because the dude is young even for a freshman." The 17-year-old Williams did not participate in the second scrimmage due to an ankle injury. While the Cougars' offensive backfield is deep, Williams — who was recruited by Boise State, Arizona State, Utah, UCLA and Oregon, among others — should get a considerable number of touches this season.
