The home seen in these images was once occupied by Brigham Young, his wife, Miriam Works Young and a child. Evidently, they shared space in the home with its owner, James Pine.

The home today is owned by an individual who has a graduate degree in history and a strong interest in historical sites. Although not a member of the LDS Church, the owner has preserved the home for those who might have an interest in the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This thoughtful attitude has proven the owner to be a wonderful friend to Mormons to whom we owe a debt of gratitude.

This little house is, to some extent, a step back in time. The home has never had water, electricity or modern heating and air conditioning. The last owner was content to live with the home in that condition until he died when he was almost 100 years old. The structure has not been occupied for several decades.

The traditional provenance of the home, along with recently discovered documentary evidence, leave little doubt of it being an authentic site of second LDS Church President Brigham Young while a young man in his 20s.
