SALT LAKE CITY — Five former college players went through a rigorous workout for the Utah Jazz Friday morning at the Zion’s Basketball Center.
Three players were point guards, Iona’s Scott Machado, Mississippi State’s Dee Bost and Marquette’s Darius Johnson-Odom, while two were forwards, John Shurna of Northwestern and JaMychal Green of Alabama.
A sixth player, Syracuse point guard Scoop Jardine, pulled up with an undisclosed injury during the workout and was advised by Jazz trainers not to continue.
“It was a good workout, all the guys played hard,’’ said Jazz vice president of player personnel Walt Perrin. “We had a chance to see some guys we’re interested in and we learned some things.’’
Perrin and coach Tyrone Corbin didn’t want to single out players, but said some of the players showed them things they didn’t know prior to the workout.
The Jazz have the 47th pick in the NBA Draft later this month.
Another group of players will work out for the Jazz on Saturday in two sessions at the Zion’s Bank Center.
