Myrth Kendall Oldroyd1915 ~ 2012Myrth Kendall Oldroyd, 96 of Fountain Green passed away peacefully surrounded by her family February 24, 2012 in Nephi, Utah. Myrth was born September 20, 1915 to George Bertran & Martha Maude Jones Kendall in Nephi, Utah. She married Lowell C Oldroyd on Valentines day February 14, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah later solemnized April 16, 1983 in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Lowell and Myrth lived in Fountain Green where they raised their family and operated the Willow Service Station. She loved to quilt, crochet, cross stitch and embroidery. She also enjoyed working in her yard and cultivating a garden, where she was known for having a green thumb. Myrth's home was a gathering place for friends and family where you were always welcome and never left hungry. Her life was devoted to her family and husband which brought her great joy. She served as a primary teacher, visiting teacher, extraction worker and in compassionate service for her ward. Myrth had a love for her community and was honored in the Lamb Day parade as Grand Marshal. She worked at the Moroni Processing Plant for many years where she was known for her work ethic. Myrth is survived by her children, Myrna Nunley, Moroni, UT; Earl & Charlene Oldroyd, Midvale, UT; 11 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 19 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Lowell Ray Oldroyd; son-in-law, Jack Nunley; great grandson Justin Oldroyd; brothers, Verda, Charlos, Elmo, Weldon, Douglas; sister Deon Hansen. Funeral service will be held Thursday March 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fountain Green 2nd Ward Chapel (151 S 200W). Viewings will be held Wednesday February 29, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services both at the Fountain Green LDS Church.
