Grand marshals for the parade included the family of Jared William Day, Taylorsville resident and Navy communicator, who was KIA in Afghanistan on Aug. 6, 2011. Co-grand marshal was SFC Daniel Nehring, Taylorsville resident who has recently served in Iraq and who is one of the models for the Taylorsville Veterans Memorial sculpture.
