SALT LAKE CITY — A man walked into a local hospital Thursday complaining his leg hurt. Doctors quickly discovered his pain was because he had been shot and the bullet was still in his leg, according to police.
The man told police he was shot three days earlier, on Halloween night, but didn't realize at the time his injury was so bad, said Salt Lake police detective Dennis McGowan.
"He said it didn't bother him that much at first, then he began to feel discomfort," McGowan said.
The man told police he was walking near 1100 North and 1030 West on Halloween night to go to a relative's house to change clothes for work. He was approached by someone in a PT Cruiser who initially asked if he wanted a ride and then made a comment about gang affiliation, the victim told police.
The victim said the man in the vehicle then fired three shots. Police had no description of the shooter Friday.
