DUCHESNE — A Roosevelt man died Tuesday after he was thrown from his pickup truck during a rollover crash three miles east of Duchesne.

Someone called dispatchers about 4 a.m. to report that they'd found a truck crashed on county Road 29. The caller found the body of Cole D. Horrocks, 26, in the middle of the road as well, according to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Ty Roberts.

"(Horrocks) had a head injury and appeared to be cold," the sergeant said, adding that CPR was never initiated.

Investigators say evidence at the scene indicates that Horrocks had run off the left shoulder of the road and into soft gravel. His truck then hit a ditch and rolled side to side several times, ejecting him.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, Roberts said.
