I have to admit, Kyle Whittingham's new approach to coaching is innovative — "coaching by committee." The offense now has a separate coach for centers and guards, tackles and tight ends, wide receivers, quarterbacks and running backs.
Will they all vote on which play to run? It appears that Whittingham got a lot of mileage out of Norm Chow's old salary and has been able to hire specialists for virtually every position (including defense). Congratulations to Brian Johnson on becoming "chairman of the offense committee".
One can certainly not question Kyle's allegiance to his internal staff. I can see the benefit in practice of having specialists; it will be interesting to see how it works on game day.
