BYU, Utah, and Utah State football signing day coverage

With national letter of intent day quickly approaching, the BYU Cougars, Utah Utes and Utah State Aggies football programs are putting the finishing touches on their final signing lists for 2012. Each list will consist of some very good high school talent gathered over an extensive evaluation by the Cougar, Ute and Aggie coaching staffs.

For BYU, they committed the bulk of its class this past summer. Getting the recruiting wrapped up early is a hallmark for head coach Bronco Mendenhall. The players they’ll sign have undergone not only a thorough athletic evaluation, but a thorough character evaluation to determine if they can live the honor code while at BYU.

For Utah, they’re aiming high this season. They scoured the local market early and are making a late run on some of the top prospects on in the western region. To compete at the Pac-12 level you have recruit like the top Pac-12 programs and the Utes are doing just that.

Utah State is looking to score big in the junior college market as coach Gary Andersen continues to raise the profile of the Aggie program. They’re in the mix late for some very impressive prospects with the hope that they can help the Aggie football program reach new heights.
