Thurl Bailey, in his ninth season with the Jazz, was traded for six-year veteran Tyrone Corbin and the Jazz's No. 2 draft choice in 1992. Corbin was noted as a versatile player who was small enough (6-foot-6, 222 pounds) and quick enough to handle a three-guard team. He was leading the Timberwolves in scoring (14.4) and was third in rebounding (6.3) at the time of the trade. Bailey's statistics had dropped the last two seasons and he was shooting just 39 percent that year.
