Pauline Malin Cayias"Together Forever"1916 ~ 2011Pauline Malin Cayias passed away November 20, 2011, at the age of 95, of natural causes. She was born August 28, 1916, to Chester Freeman Malin and Jessie Elizabeth Paskett Malin in Ogden, Utah. At age four, the family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where she lived the rest of her life.She graduated from South High School and attended the L.D.S. Business College. She was employed by the United States government in the Federal Housing Administration for about 20 years. It was there she met her future husband. She married William James Cayias on July 18, 1942, in Elko, Nevada. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. They had two children - Gregory Malin (Debra Scott) Cayias and Deborah (William) Hedgepeth.Pauline was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a visiting teacher, magazine representative, and a teacher or counselor in various church organizations.She is survived by her children, their spouses and two grandchildren - Jennifer and Michael Cayias; brother Reid Malin; four nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband William; her brother Wayne Malin and her sisters Fawn Pratt and Elise Fullmer.At Pauline's request there will be a graveside service for family members only. We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at the Highland Care Center who were all wonderful during her last days.
