THE STAKES

For Central Florida ... the Knights are looking to capitalize on this opportunity to play on national television and bounce back from last week's loss at Florida International.

For BYU ... the Cougars are looking to put last weekend's embarrassing 54-10 loss to Utah behind them and halt their two-game losing streak.

THE TRENDS

For Central Florida ... the Knights are 10-0 in their past 10 games coming off a defeat.

For BYU ... the Cougars are looking to avoid back-to-back home losses for the first time since the last game in 2004 and the home-opener in 2005. BYU has not dropped back-to-back home games on consecutive weekends since 2003.

THE EDGE

Central Florida will win if ... the Knights force turnovers and make big plays on the ground and through the air against BYU's defense.

BYU will win if ... the Cougars avoid turnovers, finish drives, and the defense puts pressure on UCF quarterback Jeffrey Godfrey.

PLAYER TO WATCH

JAKE HEAPS, BYU: The Cougar quarterback has been inconsistent this season. He needs to protect the ball and make good throws. But he's facing the nation's top-ranked team in pass defense.

KEY MATCHUP

BYU'S RUNNING BACKS vs. UCF'S FRONT SEVEN: The Cougars must to establish a running game. Can JJ Di Luigi, Joshua Quezada and Bryan Kariya find holes and get yardage against the Knights, who are No. 13 nationally in rush defense?

INJURY REPORT

Central Florida: None.

BYU: Offensive guard Houston Reynolds (foot) is doubtful. Linebacker Jordan Pendleton (ankle) will be a game-time decision.

NEXT UP
