Catherine "Kay" Beatrice Korogi Martin 1925 ~ 2011 Our beloved wife and mother, Catherine Beatrice Korogi Martin, age 86, passed away on August 9, 2011, of complications due to a stroke, in Salt Lake City Utah.Born May 3, 1925 in Providence R.I. to Frederick and Helen Sandberg. Married Charles W. Korogi, later divorced. Married to Richard F. "Dick" Martin, loving husband of 25 years. She was an active member of The Cathedral of the Madeline Catholic Church. She served as a volunteer at the soup kitchen serving food to the less fortunate, as well as other volunteer work. Graduated from Cranston High School, in Cranston R. I. She retired from Civil Service as a computer systems analyst for the Federal Aviation Administration. Survived by her husband Richard F. Martin and four sons. Steven C. Korogi (Robin), Montana City MT; John F. Korogi (Kellie), West Jordan UT; Charles M. Korogi (Andrea) Carlsbad CA; Matthew D. Korogi (Rebecca), Salt Lake City UT; grandchildren Matthew, Christopher and Angela. Catherine was a vivacious and caring person and touched many people in her lifetime. She was beloved by many and will be missed by all. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 331 East South Temple. A vigil service will be held Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Committal, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street.
