Jimmer Fredette, Deron Williams won't visit Utah Jazz until 2012

SALT LAKE CITY — The NBA released its schedule for the upcoming season Tuesday, and Deron Williams and Jimmer Fredette won't make their sure-to-be anticipated appearances in Utah until January.

Of course, depending on how the lockout plays out, Jazz fans might have to wait until 2012 to see any NBA action anyway.

Despite the realistic threat of not playing a full season because of the ongoing labor dispute between owners and players, the NBA put out its entire 2011-12 schedule.

If the season goes on as scheduled, the Jazz would help tip off the league's slate at home against the Houston Rockets on Nov. 1. Utah has another game at EnergySolutions against Memphis two nights later, but then embarks on the first of three five-game road trips.

Though only six of its 15 November games are at home, the Jazz do have a couple of enticing contests the first month. Blake Griffin will bring the Clippers to town on Nov. 18, followed by the return of Carlos Boozer, Kyle Korver and the Bulls on Nov. 21.

Williams' Nets are scheduled to play at ESA on Jan. 14, while Fredette's Kings will make their only visit to Utah on Jan. 30.

Other home highlights include the Miami game on March 2, NBA champion Dallas on Jan. 19 and the Lakers on Dec. 2.

Having lost Williams and missing out on the playoffs last spring might have factored into the Jazz only being penciled in for three ESPN games and just one TNT appearance.

Utah will face every Eastern Conference team twice and all but four Western Conference teams four times. The Jazz only play the Mavericks, Lakers, Hornets and Kings three times apiece.
