Elsie Ringger 1919 ~ 2011 Elsie G. Ringger, 91, of Pleasant Grove passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011. She was born in Zurich, Switzerland on September 11, 1919 to Walter Hage and Lina Kaelin. She married Carl W. Ringger on July 24, 1941 in Zurich. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Carl passed away in 2002. Elsie grew up in Switzerland and attended school in Zurich. After graduation from school, Elsie apprenticed and worked in retail sales. In 1950, Elsie and Carl and their two children moved to Utah where they spent the remainder of their lives. She joined the LDS Church at the age of 10. Elsie was a faithful member of the Church and served in many callings on both the ward and stake level. She and Carl served in the Swiss Temple for five years, three of which were as Temple President and Temple Matron. They also served a family history mission in Frankfurt, Germany and helped with setting up family history centers throughout Europe. Elsie spent many dedicated years at the Utah State Developmental Center and the Harrington School working with special needs children. She enjoyed knitting, working in her yard, and writing in her journals. She is survived by her six children: Regula (David) Holdaway, Pleasant Grove; Carl (Carol) Ringger, Payson; Mark (Jill) Ringger, Pleasant Grove; Michael (Patrice) Ringger, Houston, TX; Andrew (Pam) Ringger, Payson; Robin (Doug) Barton, Walnut Creek, CA; 25 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandsons, William and Daniel Ringger. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the North Field Sixth Ward Chapel, 408 West 1300 North, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may attend a viewing from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove.
