David E. Holman "Dave" David Elwood Holman passed away May 27, 2011 in Moab, Utah doing what he loved, enjoying the great outdoors. He was born November 10, 1940 in Murray, Utah to Farril and Luella Jorgensen Holman and had many fond memories growing up there. Graduated from Jordan High School and was proud to be a Beetdigger! He married Myrna Jane Putnam April 19, 1963 in the Logan Temple; she preceded him in death. Retired from Eimco after working as a machinist Inspector for 38 years. Those who know Dave best, knew of his love for restoring classic cars. He was frequently seen at car shows throughout Utah often driving his restored '29 Ford. He loved spending time with his family, especially going hunting, fishing and camping. He never passed up a chance to watch a classic John Wayne movie. Dave was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was always there to help and support his family and friends. He was a quiet, kind, patient man. He served in many callings for the LDS Church. Survived by children: Michelle, Brett (Tina), Matthew; grandchildren: Sage, Max and Mason; brother, Richard (Joyce); sisters: Maralyn (Grant) Larson and JoAnn (Richard) Dahl; sister-in-law, Jayne Ann Holman. Also preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bryant. The family would like to express great thanks to those who tried valiantly to resuscitate Dave at the scene of the accident. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church, 2030 West Chateau Ave. (5225 S.), Taylorsville, Utah. Viewings will be held Friday, June 3, 2011, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Woodruff Cemetery, Woodruff, Utah.
