Hermine Briggs Horman 1926 ~ 2011 Hermine Briggs Horman, 85, passed away May 12, 2011 while her loving family surrounded her. She was born in Magrath, Alberta, Canada to Azer Briggs and Emilie Osterloh. Hermine attended a one room Lehi grade school in Magrath. She served a mission in the Southern States Mission. After her mission she met Phares T. Horman Jr. and was married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they shared love and laughter with their seven kids born in five years (2 sets of twins). Hermine shared her testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints while serving on the YW General Board, a counselor and as a teacher. She also served as a missionary in the Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and Abidjan, Ivory Coast Missions with Phares. Hermine was an editor and author of numerous church books and publications, including Mormon Cookery. Valuing education she started her bachelors degree in 1948 and graduated in 2008 from BYU at the age of 81. Survived by her husband Phares, sister, Emma Lou (Derral Child), Brother, Jim (Lou) Briggs, children; Heather (Ken) Spurlock, Karen (Marty) Phelps, Susan Ray, Becky (Kevin) Ririe, Briggs (Wendy) Horman, April (Sieg) Widmer, 36 grandchildren and 2 3/4 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, siblings and daughter Shelley (Vernon) Fuller. Viewing on May 17, 2011 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S. from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral on May 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing from 9:45 -10:45 a.m. at Crescent 18th Ward building, 2195 E.
