John S. (Jack) Price 1921 ~ 2011 John S. Price, age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 7. Born January 6, 1921 in St. Anthony, Idaho, the son of Charles F. and Catherine Campbell Price. Married Peggy Meagher, October 5, 1949 at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, Salt Lake City, Utah. She died in 1993. Married Marilyn Early in 1994. Jack graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration. He was a bombardier on a B24 serving in World War II, flying 35 missions in the European Theatre, three of which were over Polesti, one of the most heavily defended targets in Europe. He received recognition for meritorious achievement in aerial flight and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and 4 Air Medals. He began his business career with G.M.A.C. and advanced to Credit Manager of the Salt Lake office which included all of Utah and parts of Idaho, Wyoming and Nevada. He resigned this position to become one of the founders of Security Leasing Co. and served as its executive Vice-President and Director. Security Leasing Co. became a nation-wide leasing company. Following this, he was self-employed in personal investments. He was one of the founders of Clawson-Price Enterprises and served as its Vice President and Director. Clawson-Price Enterprises built and operated 15 H. Salt Fish & Chips stores in San Diego, California. H. Salt was a division of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Jack served as a Director of the Bank of Vernal, Vernal, Utah and also Peoples First Thrift, Salt Lake City. He was involved in numerous community activities, helping to raise funds and he supported many worthy causes. He was a member of St. Ambrose Parish, St. Vincent's Parish, member and Past-President of The Country Club, member of the Cottonwood Club, Salt Lake City, Utah and Thunderbird Country Club, Rancho Mirage, California. Jack is survived by his wife of 16 years, Marilyn Early Price, his children and their spouses Steven J. Price, (Jody), William J. Price, Patty P. Brimley (Michael), foster daughter Maria Jenei, three granddaughters, Sandra, Emily and Laurel Price and two grandsons, Tyler and Justin Brimley, all of Salt Lake City. Also survived by his step children and their spouses Christine E. Allred, Deborah E. Davis, Saundra E. Stone (Bill) and Michael C. Early (Ella). The family would like to thank all the caregivers who showed so much love and compassion. Rosary services will be held Wednesday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 E. 100 S., Salt Lake City, Utah - Friends may call between 6-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 12 at 11:00 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, 1385 E. Spring Lane (5195 S), where friends may call at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place immediately following services at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 275 North U Street.
