Anne M. Yates 1936 ~ 2011 Our beautiful and loving English Rose, Anne Maddox Yates, was taken from us April 13, 2011. She was a selfless and devoted daughter, sister, wife and mother. A caring friend.Anne was born May 16, 1936 at Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, England to Ralph and Maggie Haigh Maddox, the only sister to four brothers. Daughter of an English Constable, she met and married Floyd B. Yates, an airman serving in the USAF. To their union four children were born. She was a proud military wife enduring the many sacrifices of her husband's career with great dignity and strength. After his retirement, they moved to Salt Lake where she raised her family. She was employed at Intertax for many years and was then a partner in a small tax preparation company. During the 90's, to the time of her death, she was employed as an office manager for Evans Coin Laundry. Her time working for Boyd Evans was among the happiest of her life. A gentle soul, Anne greatly enjoyed her family and found fulfillment in her job. In the brief moments of relaxation she allowed herself, she had a fondness for gardening, a cup of tea, a good book, and the TV show, "Cops". Moments spent with her many friends were always highly treasured. A British National to the end. Anne is grieved by her loving husband of many years; two daughters; two sons; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four brothers. A visitation will be held Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Private family funeral services will be held.
