Utah Jazz players' summer plans

RAJA BELL

Position: Guard

11th season

Stats: 8.0 ppg, 2.6 rpg

Summer plans: Bell said he's heading home to Miami, where he plans to take his family to the Caribbean and travel a bit. He also plans to get in some golf. As for basketball, Bell plans to shoot a lot of jump shots. He shot just 40.9 percent from the field in 2010-11, his lowest since 2003-04.

"I didn't do enough work last summer on it specifically, and I think I can control that," Bell said. "And I'll do my best to try to work that out."

Bell has a shooting coach, who he pays, and is confident he'll get things right.

Contract situation: Two years remaining on deal that calls for $3,240,000 in 2011-12 and $3,480,000 in 2012-13.

Quote: "Ultimately it was a disappointing season. None of us want to be going home today. We'd like to be playing and competing for that ultimate prize, but that's not the reality."

JEREMY EVANS

Position: Small forward

First season

Stats: 3.6 ppg, 2.0 rpg

Summer plans: Mixed between Utah and Kentucky, where he played college ball.

Contract situation: One more year on rookie contract. He will make about $789,000 next year.

Quote: "I've worked really hard on getting more bulk, but I don't think it's going to come, because I've tried everything. It might come with age."

FRANCISCO ELSON

Position: Center

Eighth season

Stats: 2.2 ppg, 1.9 rpg

Summer plans: Will return to his homeland and play for the Netherlands' national team after his banged-up knee heals.

Contract situation: Unrestricted free agent.

Quote: "It's been a tough season, ups and downs. In the beginning, I think I played very aggressively, and then it dwindled down to little nagging injuries. All in all, I think it was an up and down season for me."

DERRICK FAVORS

Position: Power forward

First season

Stats: 6.8 ppg, 5.3 rpg

Summer plans: He said he'll go back home to Georgia soon, but plans to come back to Utah in the summer to work out.

Contract situation: One more year (team option on two more) on rookie contract. He is slated to make $4.1 million next season.

Quote: "I feel comfortable here. It's great. I like the team, the organization, the coaches, the fans, the players. I hope I'll be around."

KYRYLO FESENKO

Position: Center

Fourth season

Stats: 2.0 ppg, 2.0 rpg

Summer plans: Will leave for Ukraine, his native country, today and plans on playing for the national team beginning in late June after rehabbing broken thumb.

Contract situation: Unrestricted free agent.

Quote: "I think I was pretty good at the end of the season, so I'm progressing. I can't say that I'm 100 percent happy. I still have a lot of stuff to take care of. Other than that I think I'm in a pretty good spot."

DEVIN HARRIS

Position: Point guard

Seventh season

Stats: 15.8 ppg, 5.4 apg (17 games with Utah)

Summer plans: Take some time to unwind back in his home of Dallas, but will join teammates for workouts in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Contract situation: Two more seasons under contract with Utah for about $9 million per year.

Quote: "Obviously, it's not expected for us to miss the playoffs. It's a winning franchise and ... it's our job to get it back to that type of level."

MEHMET OKUR

Position: Center/forward

Ninth season

Stats: 4.9 ppg, 2.3 rpg

Summer plans: Okur plans to return home to Turkey right away because he wasn't able to go last year because of surgery.

"I'm just going out there and start to work out right away," said Okur, who is also determined to get his ailing back and leg healed in the offseason. He acknowledged that progress is being made with both injuries in rehab.

Contract situation: Multi-year deal expires at end of 2011-12 season. Due to be paid $10,890,000.

Quote: "It's been a rough year and I've got to look forward now. It's going to be a long summer and hopefully I'm going to take advantage of the summer and get back here 100 percent."

GORDON HAYWARD

Position: Small forward

First season

Stats: 5.4 ppg, 1.8 rpg

Summer plans: Will go back to Indianapolis to work out at St. Vincent's where he worked out before last year's NBA Draft.

Contract situation: One more guaranteed year on rookie contract worth $2.4 million per year.

Quote: "I proved to myself I belong in the league; it was a real confidence-booster. Not making the playoffs and watching them will definitely keep me motivated and try to be a better player."

AL JEFFERSON

Position: Center

Seventh season

Stats: 18.6 ppg, 9.7 rpg

Summer plans: Jefferson said intends on staying here and has no vacation plans, joking that he's trying to save his money in case of a lockout. Jefferson plans to take a leadership role in workouts with teammates this summer in Salt Lake City and Santa Barbara, Calif. He insists that everyone is on the same page and has the same mindset to get better.

Contract situation: Two seasons remaining on multi-year deal that pays $14 million in 2011-12 and $15 million in 2012-13.

Quote: "Everything that happened this season, I feel, like it happened for a reason. It's just going to make us better for next season. I'm really feeling real good going into this offseason with the pieces we've got coming back next year."

ANDREI KIRILENKO

Position: Small forward

10th season

Stats: 11.7 ppg, 5.1 rpg

Summer plans: Family relocates every offseason to southern France.

Contract situation: Unrestricted free agent.

Quote: "It's definitely my first choice (to return to Utah). So many good memories here. Ten years you don't want to throw it out so quick. So Jazz are going to be definitely a player."

C.J. MILES

Position: Forward

Sixth season

Stats: 12.8 ppg, 3.3 rpg

Summer plans: "Same thing I try to do every summer, try to take over the world," Miles said before noting that he plans to try and improve on everything and keep getting better. The 24-year-old, who is a six-year veteran, also wants to get in better shape than he was this season.

Contract situation: Team option for 2011-12, $3.7 million.

Quote: "If they pick it up I'll be ecstatic. It'll be great if I can be here," Miles said of Jazz exercising a team option on his contract. "... This is where I want to be. These are the guys I want to play with."

PAUL MILLSAP

Position: Power forward

Fifth season

Stats: 17.3 ppg, 7.6 rpg

Summer plans: Most of offseason will be spent in Utah, where he lives year-round, but he'll also get out and about and play pick-up hoops when possible.

Contract situation: Still has two seasons remaining on his four-year deal with Utah, averaging about $7 million per season.

Quote: "We had our highs. We had our lows. Mostly lows. But we learned how to deal with it as a team, as a unit. We stayed together. There wasn't no bickering, no arguing amongst each other."

RONNIE PRICE

Position: Shooting guard

Sixth season

Stats: 3.3 ppg, 1.0 rpg

Summer plans: Will stay in Salt Lake with his family and also go back to Texas. Will represent Jazz players in NBA negotiations between players and owners this summer.

Contract situation: Free agent.

Quote: "I would love to be back. I would love to have a chance to play for Ty Corbin. I haven't really had a chance to play for Ty because of my injuries. I would love to have the opportunity to be back here. But I don't know if I'm in their plans."

EARL WATSON

Position: Point guard

10th season

Stats: 4.3 ppg, 3.5 apg

Summer plans: Has a home in the Los Angeles area where he says Lakers' fans — even ones who like that he's from UCLA — get annoyed that he roots against the NBA champs.

Contract situation: Unrestricted free agent.

Quote: "Getting healthy is the main thing (for the Jazz). Get healthy, come in and use this as a edge and play with a fire and kind of a disappointment for the season, and use this as a motivation for next season."
