PROVO — BYU's Dave Rose has decided not to pursue the head coaching job at the University of Oklahoma.
Rose was contacted by Oklahoma officials about the school's coaching vacancy, but he told them Tuesday that he is not interested.
Meanwhile, BYU is preparing to offer Rose a new contract that is expected to increase his salary significantly.
Rose has compiled a 159-45 record in six seasons at the helm. He is the program's all-time leader in winning percentage (.783) and second in all-time wins behind Stan Watts, a member of the basketball Hall of Fame.
This season, Rose guided BYU to its fourth Mountain West Conference championship, its first Sweet 16 appearance in 30 years, and a school-record 32 victories.
