Mary Arlene Mikkelson Rymer Loving Wife & Mother TAYLORSVILLE - Arlene Mikkelson was born Dec. 20, 1931 to Luella Holman and Nekolie Mikkelson in Fountain Green, UT. She passed away at home, at age 79, surrounded by her eternal companion, all her children, and many grandchildren. She had fought valiantly against cancer.Arlene caught the eye of Newell Kay Rymer and they were married on May 16, 1952 in the Manti Temple. They had five children. Arlene was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings. She and Kay completed an 18 month Teaching/Activation mission in 2010 to the So. Salt Lake Mission which includes the Draper, Mtn. Point, and Riverview Stakes. Dedicated Varian employee for 24 years. She greatly loved her husband and family. She is loved and missed by: Kay Rymer (husband), Diann (Richard) Decker-Orem; Vickie (Doug) Dimond - Centerville; Gary (Chaton) Rymer - Bountiful;, Randy (Susan) Rymer - Mapleton; 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Carma (Dean) Jensen - Moroni; and Eugene (Marion) Mikkelson - Murray. Those welcoming Arlene to the other side: Nekolie and Luella (parents), Ellen Rigby, Doris Barnes, Laraine Mikkelson, Nelda Everett (sisters) and Grant and Leon Mikkelson (brothers). A viewing will be at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 13. We will celebrate Arlene's life Monday, March 14 at the LDS church at 1325 W. 5550 S. at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers please donate to the LDS missionary fund.
