Marlene Joan Holliman Faulkner (Sweet Pea) Born August 7th, 1934 in Price Utah, to Ephraim Edgar Holliman and Milda Marguerite Johnstun. After fighting a courageous battle with congenital heart disease she died on Monday, February 21, 2011 after her generous heart failed. She was surrounded by her loving family, who willingly cared for her while she transitioned. Her challenging and adventuresome childhood in Carbon County prepared her to over come two of the biggest hurdles of her life: the death of her beloved high school sweet heart William Larsen Faulkner in 1984 and the untimely death of her youngest son Lance Travis Faulkner in 2001. She married William Larsen Faulkner on November 16, 1953 and later was sealed in the Provo Temple in 1984. She was business woman of the year, a proud moment in her life, for she was a dedicated business owner of one of the most recognized landmarks in Provo: Will's Pit Stop. She was a highly decorated speed boat owner in American Powerboat Association for over 40 years. She belonged to the Edgemont 20th ward and served in numerous callings throughout her life. Survivors include Kim Ashton, Kelly Spafford (Ryan), William A. Faulkner (Holly), and Kaye Lynn Jennings (Gordon), 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 26th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the LDS church located at 4000 North 650 East (Timpview Dr). A visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem, and also Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the ward chapel prior to the services. Interment will be in the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sundbergolpinmortuary.com. The family expresses their sincere gratitude for the devoted care of Dr. John Mitchell and the nurses and staff of Utah Valley Hospital ICU and fifth floor.
