SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Blaze will play their games in EnergySolutions Arena in downtown Salt Lake City for the 2011 season. The Arena Football League franchise will kick off its season against the Tampa Bay Storm at the home of the Utah Jazz on March 17 at 7:30 p.m.
The Blaze now have former ArenaBowl XXIII champion offensive coordinator Matthew Sauk on head coach Ron James' staff. They also made several key player signings including quarterback Tommy Grady (6-7, 245, Utah), receiver Aaron Boone (6-2, 210, Kentucky), receiver Brent Casteel (5-10, 200, Utah), defensive lineman Gabe Long (6-3, 290, Utah) and defensive lineman Caesar Rayford (6-5, 260, Washington).
"We are extremely excited about our return to EnergySolutions Arena and have nothing but appreciation for the gracious way everyone here has welcomed us and our vision for the future of the organization," said Blaze owner Logan Hunter. "The Blaze and the entire AFL have made huge strides in bringing this amazing game back to the fans, and we are excited to showcase our personal accomplishments this upcoming season."
