Emerald Bowl notes: What they did

Both Utah and Georgia Tech wound up in prison. The teams were treated to a tour of Alcatraz and a bay cruise that passed by the Golden Gate Bridge. The Utes and Yellow Jackets then had the remainder of the evening off to enjoy the city.

The Utes held meetings at the hotel before practicing on the artificial turf at Laney College in Oakland. Though overnight showers left things a bit damp, temperatures were in the 50s under partly cloudy skies. Brett Ratliff took a majority of the snaps at quarterback with receiver Travis LaTendresse serving as his primary target.

The Yellow Jackets practiced at San Francisco City College in the morning. The session was closed to the media. They're expected to do the same again today before a private walk-through at SBC Park on Wednesday.

Both teams will practice for the final time. The morning workouts will be followed by an afternoon press conference at MoMo's restaurant near SBC Park. Later in the day, players from Utah and Georgia Tech will compete in a video game challenge at Jillians, where dinner will be served. Other activities include a brunch for staff wives and a brewery tour for the assistant coaches. A VIP dinner will cap off the evening.
