Provo police have investigated three incidents involving BYU football players since January, and subsequent reviews of the allegations by the university's Honor Code Office concluded with punishment for 14 players:
• In January, several players engaged in group sex with a female BYU track athlete at a party in a west Provo home. The woman initially told police she was raped but later recanted. University officials expelled one player, suspended three for a year and placed two on probation. The woman withdrew from school.
• In April, two players beat up and robbed an acquaintance. Both pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges, and both were suspended for one year.
• The Honor Code Office reviewed the actions of nine players in the August incident. Three were cleared of wrongdoing, but six were punished. Three were suspended for a year, one was partially suspended, one placed on probation and one warned.
