MormonTimes.com: Saints on the Seas
Before the Mormon pioneers crossed the plains, many of them crossed the ocean. For some it was a harrowing experience. Turbulent seas, crowded conditions, sickness and other factors contributed to trials of faith and circumstance. Even for those who had calm seas and a relatively safe crossing, the ocean journey added weeks, if not months, to their trek.
Cori Connors spent "a good year of my life" researching journals and ships' logs to write a musical tribute to these pioneers and says, "my admiration for these early pioneer saints is profound."
