The department has scheduled nine trail tours through the rest of the year to encourage residents to exercise and explore the city's trails.
The next tour will be at 8 a.m. on Saturday on the Utah and Salt Lake Canal Trail. Meet at the Canal Trail by Kennedy Junior High School seminary building at 4495 S. 4800 West at 8 a.m. to participate in the tour.
Other tour dates are as follows:
• June 28 — A 5K race is scheduled as part of the West Fest. More information on the race can be found at www.westfest.org. An entrance fee for the race is required.
• July 19 — Lake Park Trail system. Meet at 8 a.m. at the north end of the Discover Card Corporate Center parking lot at 2500 S. Lakepark Blvd.
• Aug. 16 — Night walk at the West Ridge Golf Course. Meet at 10 p.m. in the parking lot of the West Ridge Clubhouse at 5055 S. West Ridge Blvd.
• Call 955-4000 for more information on tours scheduled for Sept. 20, Oct. 11 and Nov. 22.
• Dec. 1 — Walk with Santa at Centennial Park. Meet at 6 p.m. at the Family Fitness Center at 5415 W. 3100 South.
