BROOMFIELD, Colo. Elton Brown recorded his league-leading 18th double-double and Kaniel Dickens converted a deflected pass by Billy Thomas off referee Marat Kogut for the game-winning layup with 17 seconds left in a 95-93 NBA Development League victory over the Utah Flash Tuesday.
The victory snapped a three-game losing skid for Colorado and improved the 14ers to 15-12. The Flash ends its six-game road trip 2-4 and returns home to host the Anaheim Arsenal on Friday at 15-15. Tipoff for Friday's game is set for 7 p.m.
With the game going back and forth down the stretch, a Morris Almond layup with 59 seconds left to play tied the game at 93. Following a shot clock violation by Colorado, Thomas deflected a Kevin Kruger pass off Kogut, gathered it in and dished to Dickens for the game-winner.
Brown had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the 14ers, who had six players finish in double figures. Eddie Gill and Dickens had 17 to lead Colorado scoring. Brian Greene had 12, while Justin Cage and Roderick Riley chipped in 11 each.
Almond made 12-of-18 from the floor and finished with a game-high 31 points.
Brian Jackson, James Lang and Lamar Rice each scored 10 points for Utah, who converted 48 percent from the floor to Colorado's 38 percent. The Flash outrebounded Colorado 43-37.
