Every time I go to a parade and the KFC float comes along, I always hear comments about how funny it is that KFC started in Utah. The truth is that Colonel Sanders developed the chicken with the 11 herbs and spices in Corbin, Ky., and then went on the road to franchise it. Dick Harman had a hamburger restaurant in Salt Lake City, and Sanders cooked him a fried chicken dinner. He was the first franchise for the chicken and called it "Kentucky Fried Chicken."
