The Jazz have trimmed their roster from 20 to 12 for the Rocky Mountain Revue summer league, which gets under way for Utah tonight with a 6 p.m. game against Phoenix.

The Jazz roster, as expected, includes Utah's first-round selections from each of the past four NBA drafts, DeShawn Stevenson (2000), Raul Lopez (2001), Curtis Borchardt (2002) and Sasha Pavlovic (2003), along with 2003 second-round pick Mo Williams.

Free agents making the squad are Weber State star Jermaine Boyette, Italian Leaguer Alessandro Cittadini, former Denver Nuggets center Zendon Hamilton, DePaul product Sam Hoskin, Michigan State product Andre Hutson, SMU product Quinton Ross and ex-Chicago Bull Michael Ruffin.

Jeff Boschee, Ronald Dupree, Chuck Eidson, Brooks Hall, Jerry McCullough, Nick Sheppard, Michael Smith and former Colorado State center Joe Vogel all were cut.

The nine-team, nine-day Revue — an NBA summer league for rookies, youngsters and free agents — runs through July 26 at the Lifetime Activities Center on the Redwood Road campus of Salt Lake Community College.

MILLER'S VISIT: The Jazz have turned their attention in the free-agent market to Indiana Pacers All-Star center Brad Miller, who is visiting both Utah and Denver late this week.

Indiana still hopes it can re-sign Miller, but until now the Pacers have been focussing most of their attention on re-signing fellow-frontliner Jermaine O'Neal to a seven-year, $126 million deal.

"We know Brad's probably not very happy with us," new Pacers president Larry Bird told the Indianapolis Star. "He wanted to get this deal done right away. But we wanted to get Jermaine out of the way.

"Now," Bird added, "we can concentrate on Brad."

MATCHING MAGGETTE? The Los Angeles Clippers continue to insist they will match a six-year offer sheet extended by the Jazz and signed by 23-year-old shooting guard Corey Maggette, along with offer sheets signed by both Elton Brand (Miami) and former University of Utah star Andre Miller (Denver).

The Clippers have 15 days from last Wednesday to actually match.

"As we have repeatedly said," Clippers vice president Andy Roeser said in a statement, "it is our intention to match any and all offers as we see fit, with a goal of maintaining the nucleus of our team."

Few expect Miller to actually be matched, but the verdict remains out on Maggette and Brand.

Maggette's contract, the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday, is worth $42 million — not the $45 million originally reported by the Times.

The Jazz could have front-loaded up to about $14 million of the deal, but according to the Times only $3.5 million must be paid immediately.
