PROVO — A new charter school will open in Provo.

The Utah State Office of Education has approved Discovery Junior High.

The school, which will house 60 middle-school age students, will accept applicants until July 26. Charter schools are public schools. There is no tuition.

The school is founded on the philosophies of such educators as Maria Montessori, John Dewey, Howard Gardner, Carl Rogers and Parker Palmer. For more information, contact Diana West at 225-5732 or diana@utahfilm.com.
