PROVO Fees for birth and death certificates requested at the Utah County Health Department's Office of Vital Records will be going up following action by the state Legislature.
Effective July 1 the fee for obtaining vital records will be as follows:
- Birth certificates will increase from $12 to $15.
- Death certificates will increase from $9 to $13.
- Additional copies of birth and death certificates will now be $8 each when issued at the same time.
The new fees will be the same throughout the state. Due to the state's confidentiality law, a request for copies of birth and death certificates will be honored only for the individual, the individual's parents, spouse, child, sibling, grandparent or grandchild.
