ABC is adding seven new series and shifting six returning shows, while the WB will add six and shift five in the fall.

ABC, which somewhat surprisingly renewed "The Practice," will revive its TGIF format on Fridays and move "The Wonderful World of Disney" to Saturdays. The WB's big move is to shift "Smallville" to Wednesdays, where it will precede the renewed "Angel," which is adding James Marsters of "Buffy" to its cast next season.

ABC's new dramas: 10-8 (Sundays, 7 p.m.), about a New York bad boy (Danny Nucci) turned L.A. deputy sheriff; Karen Sisco (Wednesdays, 9 p.m.), based on the Jennifer Lopez movie "Out of Sight," is about a "smart, sexy, tough" U.S. marshal (Carla Gugino) working Miami's Gold Coast; Threat Matrix (Thursdays, 7 p.m.) is about an elite team within the Homeland Security Agency fighting terrorist threats in stories "ripped from the headlines."

ABC's new comedies: I'm With Her (Tuesdays, 7:30 p.m.) is inspired by writer Chris Henchy's marriage to Brooke Shields — a teacher (David Sutcliffe) falls in love with a movie star (Teri Polo); It's All Relative (Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m.) is about a guy (Reid Scott) from a conservative, blue-collar family whose fiancee (Maggie Lawson) is an uppercrust Harvard grad. And she was raised by her father and his gay boyfriend; Back to Kansas (Fridays, 7:30 p.m.) is about a New Yorker (Breckin Meyer) who marries a Kansas girl (Meredith Monroe), moves to the Midwest and is overwhelmed by her large, quirky family; Hope & Faith (Fridays, 8 p.m.) casts Faith Ford ("Murphy Brown") as a housewife and Kelly Ripa ("Live with Regis and Kelly") as her best friend, a suddenly jobless soap-opera diva who tries to fit into small-town life.

ABC also announced a pair of midseason replacement shows, both hourlong dramas: Line of Fire follows both sides of the war between organized crime and the FBI; and Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital, based on the Danish miniseries "Riget," is described as a cross between "ER" and "The Shining."

ABC axed "Are You Hot?," "Dinotopia," "Drew Carey," "Lost at Home," "MDs," "Miracles," "Profiles from the Frontline," "Push, Nevada," "Regular Joe," "That Was Then," "Veritas" and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"

The WB's new comedies: Steve Harvey's Big Time (Thursdays, 7 p.m.) marks the return of the comedian to the WB with a talk/variety show; Run of the House (Thursdays, 8:30 p.m.) centers on a 15-year-old girl being raised by her older siblings; Like Family (Friday, 7:30 p.m.) is about two families — one black, one white — who share the same house; and All About the Andersons (Fridays, 8:30 p.m.) is a multigenerational, multiethnic sitcom about a struggling actor/single dad, based on the life of comedian Anthony Anderson.
