Donald A. DeVore, loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away April 29, 2003.
He was born December 4, 1919 in Elk Grove, California to Robert and Allie DeVore. He married Elaine Haws June 28, 1940 in Magna, Utah, where they lived until moving to Mesa, Arizona 16 years ago. They were married for 60 loving years.
Raised in farming country in California and Colorado, Don loved working with cattle and horses and always felt at home in the mountains. He served in the US Navy during World Wa II, and worked for Kennecott Copper Corp. for 32 years. He was also continuously active with the American Legion.
Survived by sons, Robert DeVore and Duane (Frances) DeVore; daughter, Charlene (Steve) Smith; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and sister, Virginia (Robert) Baker. Preceded in death by parents and wife, Elaine.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2003 at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, where friends may call both Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
