PROVO The Stadium of Fire will be telecast live from LaVell Edwards Stadium at Brigham Young University to U.S. armed forces in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan.
The Independence Day concert and fireworks extravaganza is the highlight of the annual America's Freedom Festival at Provo. The broadcast, which will be carried via satellite, will be seen at all U.S. military posts in Asia and Europe as well as on U.S. Navy ships.
The American Forces Network will be the primary means of telecasting the show to over 1,000 outlets in 175 countries around the world.
The AFN uses seven satellites to blanket the globe with multichannel broadcast of radio and television. The program will be tape-delayed in time zones where troops will be sleeping during the live broadcast.
This year's show headlines country singing star Martina McBride, with hosting duties performed by Sean Hannity, popular political commentator with 14 million listeners nationally.
