"Nana"
Lea Lewis Clark, "Nana", was born August 5, 1916. She left the world Sunday morning to be reunited with her devoted husband Leroy Clark, "Bomp". Nana didn't give Bomp much time to prepare for her at the veil; only six months since his death. They never went to bed angry at each other in 71 years and now they are working on eternity. Nana was a mountain of love and wisdom for her family and all who knew her.
Nana and Bomp went on a mission to Hawaii in 1936 where she helped to organize the first LDS Primaries for the Hawaiian Islands. Nana was a born leader. She served three times as Ward Relief Society President and once as Stake Relief Society President along with many other callings. She could cook anything anywhere and make it "the best you have ever tasted". Her grandchildren lived for her spontaneous story telling ability. She was an athlete, a sports fan, and a guard on her high school basketball team in Pocatello, Idaho; and she always showed up for her grandchildren's sporting events. Nana spent the last 30 years of her life in Salt Lake City making friends and counseling anyone who needed help.
Survived by her two lovely daughters and their husbands: Maxine and Eldon Lowder, and Marlene and Don Zimmerman. Nana had 14 siblings: sisters Leona, Lenna, Lola, Lorna and brothers Lamont, and Leon remain. She also has 10 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
The viewing will be held Thursday, 4/10 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and the funeral will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, 4/11. From 10:30 a.m.-12:00 you are able to meet with the family. The viewing and service will be held at the Old Mission Ward, 1450 East Old Mission Rd. (7961 South) in Sandy, UT. Funeral under the direction of Broomhead Mortuary.
