Region 1

COACHING VACANCIES: With Viewmont's hiring of Robbie Gunter as its head football coach, two other major coaching positions have yet to be filled. The position for the head football coach at Weber is in the interview process and should be announced shortly. Also, the position for the head basketball coach at Clearfield High has yet to be filled.

Region 2

BINGHAM BASEBALL: Miner leftahander Andy Jangard is 4-0 and has yet to give up a run — earned or unearned.

APPLICATIONS DUE: Today is the final day to apply for the head basketball coaching positions at Brighton and Jordan High. For more information, contact the Jordan School District human resources department at 567-8227 or an application may be submitted online at www.jordandistrict.org.

Region 3

TAYLORSVILLE TRACK: The Taylorsville Invitational track meet, which was originally scheduled for last week, was moved to Saturday at 9 a.m.

GRANGER BASKETBALL: Granite School District is accepting applications for the Granger High boys head basketball coach position until April 11. Former coach Steve Paur resigned two weeks ago.

Region 4

MTN. CREST BASEBALL: The Mustangs are the only unbeaten or untied baseball team in the state. Bonneville, also a Region 4 member, is 4-0-1. Taylorsville, Bingham, Springville, Cyprus, Pine View, Grand and Juan Diego have one loss each.

Region 5

BOUNTIFUL DRILL: The Mandonelles won the national championship at a competition in San Antonio with first-place finishes in officers' hip hop, military, dance and novelty.

Individually, Devin Woods won first place in solo competition, and she and Brittany Knight brought home a first-place trophy in the duet competition.

Region 6

PROVO SOCCER: The fifth-ranked Provo soccer team leads Class 4A in winning margin at 2.5 goals per game.

Region 7

MOUNTAIN VIEW BASKETBALL: Heather Hansen, the 2003 Deseret News Ms. Basketball Award winner, was also named the Utah Gatorade player of the year.
