Obituary: Kenneth M. Hatch

Kenneth Mayle Hatch, age 96 of Randolph, Utah passed away March 30, 2003 at his home in Randolph.

Kenneth was born January 8, 1907 in Byron, Wyoming, a son of Jabez Bradford and Annie Putnam Hatch. He was the fifth of 10 children. He married Lucille Meldrum on May 5, 1932 in the Cardston Alberta Canada LDS Temple. She preceded him in death August 31, 1998.

He was an active member of the LDS Church. He served a mission in the Western States Mission 1929-1931. He served in many callings throughout his life. He especially enjoyed his calling with his wife as ordinance workers in the Ogden Temple for six years.

Kenneth graduated from Randolph High School in 1927 and attended the University of Utah. He was a rancher and farmer in Randolph. He received the 1966 Farmer of the Year award from the Soil Conservation District.

He is survived by four daughters: Bernice (Lawrence) Butterfield, of Lewiston, Utah; Myra (Joel) Carpenter, of West Valley, Utah; Fern Kimber, Battle Mountain, Nevada; Kay (Bill) Bell, Mt. View, Wyoming; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grand-children. He is also survived by one brother, Dale Hatch, of Randolph, Utah. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, four sisters and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 3, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. in the Randolph LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, Wyoming on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 from 6:00 -8:00 p.m., and at the church on Thursday from 11:30-12:30 prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Randolph Cemetery.
