Gov. Mike Leavitt did it again. He buckled under to the concealed-gun lobby. We didn't need another implied invitation to make our schools and churches targets for the disturbed, the itinerant, cowboy wannabes or nut-ball crusaders.
Common sense dictates that the results may promote a sinister climate of fear in schools and churches, as metal detectors will now be required.
Our Utah laws on concealed-gun screening are so weak that our state is regarded as a haven for any and all "I'm entitled" gun-toters.
Let's pass reasonable legislation.
