Great Grandmother
Barbara Perry Sorensen, age 83, died March 14, 2003 of heart complications.
Born in Murray, UT, November 26, 1919 to Robert Allan and Bertha Perry. Graduated from Granite High School and the University of Utah with a degree in education. Married Wayne William Sorensen June 20, 1942, later divorced. Raised her two sons, Robb and Ken. Taught business classes in several Salt Lake schools. Earned her Masters Degree in Psychology from the University of Utah. She became a beloved and respected counselor at East High School. A member of the Monument Park 6th Ward.
After retiring from education she turned her attention to her extended family and yard work. She enjoyed her times with her granddaughters and great grandchildren. The other loves of her life were her brother, sister, and their families, countless relatives and friends including the Rasmussens, Gygis, Turners and Johnsons. Special thanks to all her "school" friends, Phi Mu friends and "Ramona" neighbors.
Survived by her sons; sister, Pat Merrill; granddaughters, Allyson (Eric) Nielson and Kendra (Darrin) Davis; great-grandchildren: Erica, Alexandra, Jacob, Christopher and Brayden. Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Allan Perry, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Dixon Merrill.

Friends and family are invited to Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E. 1300 So., Thursday 11:30-12:30 and to a graveside service starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Murray City Cemetery, 5600 So. Vine St (approx. 800 E.).
