LESLIE NORRIS, poet and BYU emeritus professor of creative writing, will read from his book, "Norris's Ark," with music composed by Ryan Gee and Neil Thornock performed by students from BYU School of Music, in "An Evening of Whimsical verse and Music," Tuesday, March 11, 7:30 p.m., Madsen Recital Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center, BYU. This event will be recorded for radio and television.

GUDRUN DOLL-TEPPER, professor of sport science at Humboldt-Universitet in Berlin, will give a lecture, "The Winter Paralympics — Past, Present and Future," last in a series of 10 public lectures, Wednesday, March 12, 5 p.m., Gould Auditorium, U. Marriott Library.

LYNNE McMAHON, poet, and GERDA SAUNDERS, fiction writer and author of "Blessings on the Sheep Dog," will read from their work, Thursday, March 13, 7 p.m., Artspace Forum Gallery, 511 W. 200 South.

COLLEEN WHITLEY, professor of English, BYU and editor of "Worth Their Salt: Notable but Often Un-noted Women of Utah," will discuss her work, Thursday, March 13, 7 p.m., Sprague Branch City Library, 2131 S. 1100 East.

CHRISTOPHER MERRILL, poet and NPR essayist, and DEIRDRE McNAMER, novelist, will read from their works, Friday, March 14, 7 p.m., Student Pavilion, Jordan campus, Salt Lake Community College.

SANDY ANDERSON, WILLIAM STUDEBAKER, RAY OBERMAYR and GINO SKY, poets, will read from their work, Friday, March 14, 7 p.m., The Orbit, 540 W. 200 South. Guitarists "THE BLACK DOTS" will also perform ($3 cover charge).

KEN BREWER, Utah's recently named poet laureate, will read from his work, as will NANCY TAKACS, GERALD GRIMMETT and MARGARET AHO (all published by Limberlost Press), Saturday, March 15, 7 p.m., The Orbit, 540 W. 200 South. Special guest musician GREG KEELER will also perform. Free. Co-sponsor is Ken Sanders Rare Books.

CHRIS HEIMERDINGER, author of the "Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites" series, including his most recent, "Tower of Thunder," will sign copies of his books, Saturday, March 15, 11-12:30 p.m., Seagull Book, 40 W. 500 South, Bountiful; and 2-4 p.m., Deseret Book, Layton Hills Mall.

MICHELE ASHMAN BELL, author of "Pathway Home," will sign copies of her book, Saturday, March 15, 11-1:30 p.m., Seagull Book, 2250 N. University Parkway, Provo; and 2-3:30 p.m., Seagull Book, 111 S. State, Orem.

DONALD WORSTER, University of Kansas historian and author of "A River Running West: The Life of John Wesley Powell," will present a lecture, "Watershed Democracy: Recovering the Lost Vision of John Wesley Powell," Tuesday, March 18, 7 p.m., Library, Southern Utah University, Cedar City.
