Organizers of the annual Handcart Days are seeking on-stage and behind-the-scenes talent for this year's pageant, "Deseret Destiny," set for July 17-19.
Auditions will be held in March and applications will be accepted for staff positions. Auditions will include cold readings for speaking parts, pageant writer and director LouAnne Mallory said.
Auditions will be held at West Bountiful Elementary School, 740 W. 400 North, West Bountiful, with the following schedule:
March 1, men 18 and older, 8:30-10 a.m.; boys 6-11, 10 a.m.-noon; boys 12-17, 1-2:30 p.m.
March 5, families, including children 5 and older, 6:30-8:30 p.m.; dancers and staff, 7-8:30 p.m.
March 8, girls 5-11, 8:30-10 a.m.; women 18 and older, 10 a.m.-noon; girls 12-17, 1-2:30 p.m.
Applicants must bring a small color photo identified with name and phone number. Singers should prepare 10-12 bars of a song for audition.

Sandy
The Sandy Museum is seeking the community's help in finding photographs of three former mayors.
The museum has pictures of each of the city's mayors since 1893 when Sandy was incorporated except for mayors H.P. Johnson (1896-97), Wells Clark (1898-99) and Alex G. Robertson (1900-01).
The museum is asking residents to search their scrapbooks, attic boxes, basement storage containers and any other place where such photos might exist and bring the pictures to the museum, 8744 S. 150 East.
A free T-shirt will be given for each verified photo received.

Salt Lake City
To help celebrate its new library building, the Salt Lake City Library will sponsor its first annual Dewey Lecture Series, featuring monthly programs with noted experts from around the world.
The series is named after John Dewey, who invented a classification system that established categories and hierarchies of information.
The series will kick off on Saturday, March 1, 7:30 p.m. with James Burke, a science historian, author, TV host and producer, talking about "The Knowledge Web."
Free tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis two weeks prior to each event from the information desk at the main library, 210 E. 400 South.
Future segments in the series will include Kay Redfield Jamison, international researcher, on April 5 and Terry Waite, humanitarian and former hostage in Iran, on May 3.
