There is much to be thankful for in America. One overlooked group that services the public willingly and with greater efficiency than ever is the U.S. Postal System. What other agency visits our homes daily across the U.S. for a fee of only a few cents on the letters we send?
They take on the liability of delivering personal communications to loved ones that may make a difference in someone's life as well as delivering financial transactions that are absolutely essential to our well being. Public abuse and ridicule have been heaped upon postal workers, yet they continue to perform their duties.
Unfortunately, this organization became the victims of anthrax. Yet it has asked only for a few additional cents per stamp to compensate for their enormous financial losses. Kudos to the U.S. Postal Service.
