The Kimball Art Center, 638 Park Avenue, Park City, will exhibit sculpture, paintings and mixed media assemblages by Utah artists Alex Bigney and Frank McEntire through March 23. "What Cannot Be Spoken," on display in the Main and Badami galleries, provides a lofty outlet for challenging perceptions on spiritual, political and environmental issues.
Judith McConkie, director of the Kimball Art Center, cautions that the exhibit "may present a challenge for those unaccustomed to taxing their sense of spiritual musings."
McEntire, a Texas native, has years of experience in the arts and humanities. Always one to examine assumptions, McEntire's assemblages are pregnant with perception-smashing pleas.
Born in Massachusetts, Bigney developed a love of open spaces when moving to Utah in 1970. His art is no less enigmatic than McEntire's, and his imagery of barren landscapes populated with bizarre figures makes for a fascinating diversion.
The Kimball Art Center is open Monday and Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from noon-6 p.m.
