More than 30 percent of Utah's professionals have used www.utah.gov to renew their licenses since the online service was launched in March.
The Department of Commerce's Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing is providing the service, which was built and is managed by Utah Interactive, a wholly owned subsidiary of e-government company NIC. The division regulates more than 160 types of professional licenses of more than 150,000 Utahns.
On Dec. 1, more than 18,000 eligible nurses were sent notices by mail that provided an online license renewal option.
Online renewal takes less than five minutes. Renewal fee payments can be made with certain credit cards or a Utah.gov subscriber accounting, and all fees are processed through Utah.gov's payment engine.
