Our beloved father and grandfather was born in Fayette, Utah to John and Effie Ann Garrick. He married his sweetheart, Dorothy Davis on November 21, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2002.

Mardell's first priority in life were his loving children and his wonderful grandchildren and recently a great-grandchild. He worked several years for the railroad and later opened a car dealership in Ephraim, Utah. He later moved to Ogden, Utah where he sold real estates, then moved to Salt Lake where he worked in a mill.

He loved working in his shop. Those were his happy times, singing cowboy songs and working away making wooden crafts for his kids and grandkids. He made them many special treasures. He retired in 1982 and enjoyed his time working in his shop. He was a special and kind gentleman. Everyone who came in contact with him adored him.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jo Ann (Gary) Conner, West Jordan and Charlene (Mike) Bernard of Chula Vista, California; two sons, Spencer (Beckey) Garrick of South Jordan, Utah; and Kim (Cindy) Garrick of Salt Lake City, Utah; nine grandchildren who loved him more than life and one great-grandson; four sisters and one brother. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

We would like to thank Julie and Jill of the Heritage Home Health for the wonderful care they gave him until the end. He always looked forward to their visits.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Dec. 14th at 2:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary Chapel, 6500 S. Redwood Rd., West Jordan, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment,

at Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
