SAN ANTONIO The Grizzlies squandered a two-goal second-period lead on Wednesday night as they fell to the San Antonio Rampage for the second time in three games this season.
Utah scored the game's first two goals from Jon Sim (his eighth of the season) and Steve Ott (his fifth of the season) but couldn't make the lead last as San Antonio bounced right back in the second period with goals from Eric Beaudoin and Jim Campbell tying the score at two goals apiece at the end of two periods.
The Rampage would not stop there as in the third period they got a pair of goals from Juraj Kolnik that proved to be the difference in the 4-2 San Antonio victory.
The Rampage outshot the Grizzlies 41-33 on the night as former Utah goaltender Wade Flaherty stopped 31 shots en route to his first victory of the season and Corey Hirsch turned aside 37 shots in the defeat.
With the loss, Utah falls to 3-2 on their current seven-game road trip.
The Grizzlies will next travel to Grand Rapids for a pair of games beginning Friday.
